The device was being used to play promotional videos in a loop and had not exhibited any issues prior to the event. While the unit was actively displaying a video, sparks were suddenly observed emanating from the bottom section/base of the device. This was immediately followed by a rapid escalation to heavy smoke and the outbreak of flames.
The individuals present promptly unplugged the unit; however, the smoke remained extremely intense. Emergency services were contacted via 911, and the fire department was dispatched to address the situation. The sparks and heat generated from the base of the FOTEN S1-22 caused substantial damage to the carpet directly underneath the unit, as well as to the flooring beneath the carpet. The device was noted to have been stationary since its initial installation and had not been moved. The incident transpired without any prior warning and during what was described as standard use of the product.
